Due to its exceptional reliability and the storage of multiple parts on pallet(s), unattended and unmanned operation is possible.
In order to prevent the effect of deformation caused by heating, the milling spindle sleeve is tempered by a cooled oil flow, the vertical stand made of extremely rigid, special quality cast iron has a symmetrical design, the machine has automatic spindle and shaft thermal expansion compensation. Therefore, the machines meet the highest quality requirements due to their outstanding accuracy, and we recommend their use primarily in specialized fields that require demanding processing.
Exceptional productivity due to high cutting speed, high power, high feed/rapid speed (60 m/min) and acceleration/deceleration, as well as short tool change time (5.9 sec "metal to metal"). Also improving productivity is the advantage of 5-axis machining that the cutting tools contact the machined surface at an optimal angle. Another advantage of 5-axis machining is that the work piece can be manufactured practically with a single approach, and the preparation time can be significantly reduced.
Matsuura is one of the world's leading manufacturers in the field of high-speed spindles: the machines are made with 12,000 rpm (standard version) or, as an option, 15,000 and 20,000 rpm main drives. The guaranteed running accuracy (measured at the spindle cone) is max. 0.001 mm.
Thanks to the 5-axis machining, the workpieces can be finished with a single grip, therefore the possibility of errors resulting from multiple grips (errors of different grippers, inaccuracies of multiple settings) is eliminated and the accuracy of the machining is improved.
The extremely rigid structure and precision of the machines enable the milling of: hard (e.g. hardened) surfaces. Multi-machine service or unattended operation is possible with the help of different pallet systems.
